Day 1: Keeping the Main Thing the Main Thing
Reading: Galatians 6:11-18
Devotional: The Apostle Paul declares it impossible for him to boast in anything except the cross of Christ. In our distraction-filled world, we easily lose focus on what matters most. Like a drowning man seeing a lifeguard, Paul recognized the cross as his only hope. Without Christ's sacrifice, we remain separated from God, enslaved to sin, and destined for eternal death. Today, examine what consumes your thoughts and energy. Are you pursuing achievements, recognition, or comfort? The cross must remain central—not as religious decoration, but as the foundation of everything. What would your life look like if you truly made the cross your singular focus? Let the reality of Christ's sacrifice reshape your priorities, conversations, and daily decisions. The main thing is Jesus crucified.
Day 2: Reconciled to God
Reading: Romans 5:6-11
Devotional: "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." This staggering truth reveals God's love: He didn't wait for us to clean up our lives. When we were His enemies—ungodly, weak, and rebellious—Jesus died for us. The cross accomplished what we never could: reconciliation with our Creator. Through Christ's blood, God's wrath is satisfied, and we who were enemies become beloved children. Consider the depth of your sin and the height of God's love meeting at Calvary. You didn't earn this reconciliation; you received it as a gift. Today, live in the freedom of knowing there is "no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus." Let gratitude overflow into worship, knowing you've been brought from death to life, from enmity to intimacy with God.
Day 3: The Power of the Cross
Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:18-25
Devotional: The cross appears foolish to the perishing world—a barbaric execution method, a symbol of weakness and defeat. Yet to those being saved, it is the very power of God. Paul refused eloquent wisdom, choosing instead to preach Christ crucified because supernatural power resides in this simple message. The cross demolishes human pride, revealing that our greatest achievements mean nothing for salvation. God chose what the world considers foolish to shame the wise. When you share your faith, don't rely on clever arguments or impressive credentials. Simply proclaim Jesus crucified and resurrected. The Holy Spirit uses this message to transform hearts. Where do you need God's power today? Remember, His strength is perfected in weakness. The cross that looked like defeat became history's greatest victory.
Day 4: Delivered from Darkness
Reading: Colossians 1:13-14; John 12:31-33
Devotional: Before Christ, you lived in Satan's domain—a kingdom of darkness, death, and deception. But through the cross, God transferred you into His Son's kingdom of light, life, and truth. This wasn't a gradual process or something you achieved through good behavior. In one moment, when you trusted Christ, you were delivered. Jesus declared that through His crucifixion, the ruler of this world would be cast out and all people drawn to Him. You are no longer under Satan's authority. His accusations hold no power; his chains are broken. Today, walk in the freedom Christ purchased. When temptation whispers that you still belong to darkness, remember: you've been transferred. You are a citizen of heaven, ruled by the King of Kings. Live like the delivered person you are.
Day 5: A New Creation
Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
Devotional: "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." Through the cross, you're not merely improved or reformed—you're completely new. God doesn't see your past sins; He sees Christ's righteousness covering you. This isn't about trying harder to be good; it's about receiving new life. Like being born again, you have a fresh start, a new identity, and a transformed purpose. You are God's workmanship, created for good works He prepared beforehand. The shame, guilt, and condemnation are gone. Stop living as though you're still the old person. Embrace your new creation identity. Today, thank God for making you new and ask Him to help you live out this reality in practical ways. You are His masterpiece.
